So I'm going to have to re-think the whole 'sign-writing can't be that hard' theory.

Whitewash City #4
I've made a start on the painting of my posse. Sure it's only the smallest of starts, but with my painting speed, any progress is good progress!
Undercoated and whitewashed the outside, ready to add some colour.
Being my test building, it's going to stay 'white', but after finishing the trim, I will be attempting the sign-writing!!
Of course, all three of the buildings I'm currently working on are essentially 'square' single story buildings - my good lady thinks I should try something a little more challenging. Amongst the PDFs I have, none come more challenging that The Grand Hotel.
Once I've managed to build this beauty, I'm thinking of converting the single story Whitewash City Hotel into the Whitewash City Whorehouse - just so Stu's whores have somewhere to hang out!

Whitewash City #3
Probably the smallest building I will make for Whitewash city - the Bathhouse!
Customised the design slightly, removing the back door and adding a ladder so that snipers can access the roof!
The Men in Black. No, not Will Smith, but rather my posse of evil doers undercoated in back, ready for me to start painting!

Weekend Painting

Managed to get some painting done over the weekend, including finishing the bases for some men I've had around for a while. If I keep at it, I might even finish my January challenge before the end of the year!!!

Why Do I Hate Finishing?
I managed to pick up a paint brush briefly today. I painted the rifle buts and entrenching tools on some of my Airborne chaps, then remembered I had a fair few bases waiting to have their bases painted. I managed to put down the first half of the first coat of paint. Hopefully I'll stay motivated and finish them off this week sometime.Motivation seems to be a problem for me though. I haven't finished, and probably never will, my first FOW army, the Mid War Germans. I'm slowly getting on with my Late War British Airborne, but I have to pick up the pace as I have some Pulp figures to paint now, and I've just placed an order for some Late War Germans.
Whilst I'll start working on my Pulp figures as soon as I get some round bases, the Germans, when they arrive, will have to be put to one side. If I don't finish my Airborne before I open my new Germans, I'll have another unfinished Flames of War Army!

A Slap Of Paint
It's a long weekend here in New Zealand, and as such I was hoping to finish up a few figures. However, today (Sunday) is the first day I've managed to pick up a paint brush and slap on some Green Grey. Why you may ask, have I wasted a whole weekend by not painting? Because it's been so damn hot.By the time I get out of bed (remember this is a long weekend, so I've been playing Fallout 3 till 3 in the morning) the sun is up and my painting desk is the hottest place in the Southern Hemisphere. Fortunately I went to bed at the respectable time of midnight last night so was able to rock on out of bed by nine this morning, and with the overcast sky, I was able to quickly whip some paint out before the sun broke through.

Stu's Rejects
As part of my January challenge, I have to get a gaming table ready, so what better time to dust off some of Stu's reject trench pieces, and give them a quick coat of paint?
Starting with a black undercoat, the wooden side then get a generous dry brush of Beige Brown, the sandbags Green Ocher and the earth embankment Flat Earth.
Finally add a little static grass to finish the whole thing off and hopefully give my mortar team a little protection from the Germans. So why are these called Stu's Rejects? because Stu sells unpainted trench pieces and has some very high quality control values, meaning that I can occasionally raid his rejects box. Trouble is, his box is empty at the moment because he hasn't had any orders recently. Head over to TabletopTerrain to see Stu's awesome trench kits and other FOW scenery.
